Bally S5500 coin comparitor rake bypass and optic cleaning
« on: October 16, 2019, 10:28:21 AM »
I am attaching detailed pics of the coin comparitor and the optics board.
Here is where when getting help you will be better able to see the specific areas that will need to be touched upon.
Pic 1 Shows the comparator and optic board in place inside the door. I have highlighted the different components that will be pointed out as others guide you in working on them.
Pic 2 & 3 Show the little levers to extract the comparator. Lift those up and pull out from the top and it will then slide out
Pic 4 Shows the empty comparitor bay

Pic 5 & 6 shows the rake on back the comparitor and where you insert the cardboard to hold the rake out. This will nullify the comparitor I believe.

Pic 9 & 10 shows the optic board and the eprom (Removed to clean and reseat)

Pic 12 & 13 shows the backside of the optic board with the 2 LED's and the 2 Diodes (not certain what they are called) these 4 should be cleaned with a mild soap & water solution
Pic 17,18 & 19 shows the prism disassembled, clean with a mild soap & water solution

Pic 15 & 16 shows the coin spacer between the circuit board and the prism holder

Pic 20,21 & 22 shows the reinstallion of the optic board. There is a metal piece that fits up into the comparitor bay

I hope this help others have a clearer understanding as to when the pro's explain what they would like for you to do.
