The Little Blue Bird who can’t boot PART 2

Feeling pretty crushed at the moment.


Went to play some Crystal Forest on my WMS Blue Bird 1 and I got a JMC Bill Validator Volatile Ram Error upon boot up. Turned the attendant key and it gave me the same error when I rebooted the machine. I decided to clear the machine with the CPU-VIDEO 64MB clear card that I had. Clear went fine. I re-inserted the Operating System card and Crystal Forest. The machine booted up just fine, went through the settings and menus since I cleared it. Hit “Back to game” and discovered that machine said “Low Battery 1 and 2”. I powered off the machine and checked each of the batteries voltages which read 2.8, slightly below 3. In the process I re-seated the MPU and checked the bill validator’s connections. Before power up, I re-inserted the clear card for another clear. Now when I put the Operating System and Crystal Forest back in it won’t boot past “Cash-2.05a#”. The same error I had before

Forgot to add: Do you think the aluminum foil (as pictured) messed with things? The vase sat on top the machine for a few days

You are having nvram issues.  Did you replace both batteries?  Once you get an NVRAM battery low message, there is no way around it until you replace the batteries.  Also 2.8v is too low.  You are probably getting the issue because the batteries cannot sustain the NVRAM intact after the clear.

The aluminum foil did not do anything to create your current issue.  I put all kinds of stuff on top of the machine.

Update:
Welp, got the wrong batteries. Though the machine required CR 2032 batteries but mine has a green board which requires CR2335 instead. Just ordered 2 CR 2335 batteries which should arrive on July 2nd. Good news: Can’t wait to cook shrimp tacos tonight

Feeling pretty crushed at the moment, replaced the CR2335 battties and did a clear. The machine still isn’t booting up past Cash-2.05a#

post photo of where it is getting stuck now that you have the new batteries.   Also on the right side of the backplane, there's a set of lights that correspond to voltage rails for the cabinet.  Are they all lit up in green?

Update, I did clean the batteries and now the machine boots up but it gets stuck some place different. All of the CPU lights are on and all the green lights back plane are on. Now it says “No Query Response from 22085634”

Is your OS card and original WMS card?

Yes they are. They have the printed WMS logos on both of them. And now when I boot the machine it says, “1073 fils found in 2 Volumes” with the game and OS card. I ensured they were fully seated


Do you think the daughter board could have came loose?

Do you have another OS card to try out that is in the same family (SSOS-000-18xx) as the one you are using?

Sorry for the super late reply. My cat hasn’t been feeling her best and I did discover that I didn’t fully seat the MPU when I changed the batteries
