Bally 5500 eprom error

Time to finally get my machines fixed! I have a 5500 Blazing 7s machine that has a flashing reset light 1x a second. According to the manual I have that means eprom error. How do I fix it? If it matters, it originally started going into tilt if I didn't play for 30min+ when I turned it on, then eventually now it just lights up. No codes on display and doesn't attempt to go through it's startup.

Thanks for the reply Alan. Sorry for the delay, my free time has pretty much disappeared lately. How do I test the power supply? I have a multimeter, just need to know where to put probes and what I should get for readings.

See attached PDF.
Just look for +5, -12, and +12VDC voltages.
Don't worry about 24VDC.

I get no readings at all, on any terminal, and I used 2 meters to confirm. Tried jumpered the female connections (power supply side). Is it worth swapping a known good power supply in from another machine or is it safe to assume I need a replacement?

There is a sticky in the S5500 section on how to repair one. Buy a under $20 replacement module and install it.

I know it's been a while, but I finally got around to getting this machine fixed. Easy repair and worked like a charm. Thanks to those that replied.

Ok so now it's not working. When I turn on the machine, I get nothing except lights. If I push on bill acceptor, it will give me all "L"s in display and reels will dance, but that's pretty much it. Reset and clear unsuccessful. I did get chc and clc both. Ideas?

After the CHC/CLC  did you flip DSW1 #8 off and upon turning power back on leave the door open and allow the game to initialize?

Make sure MPU is in the plastic guides for the MPU tray and fully seated as these are a very  tight fit. Push hard.

Reseated tray with no improvement. Turned it on the other day and surprisingly it worked. Played it about a half hour, then the bill exchanger cycled and display went blank. A day or two after that i turned it on (still not working) and left it on. After a while it gave code 80, although when I opened the cabinet it was pretty hot inside, unsure if related. So to recap, powers on and begins to go thru startup, then seems to hang up when bill exchanger cycles, and then a few times a minute you can hear the bill exchanger and hopper cycle momentarily. Display remains blank.

Yes. It worked for one session immediately after that without issues.
