New machine, soon. Preliminary questions.
« on: April 16, 2021, 04:01:00 PM »
So my next project is a familiar one, lol.
While searching Facebook marketplace, I found a the same exact machine I already own, but a smaller version of it! What are the odds!? Lol.

So just wanted some info on it.
I don’t know the model number, is it the same as the 1088-2?
Should I expect the insides to be similar as the larger one?
The owner said it’s currently not working, but when it did, it took dollar coins! How easy is it to convert it to quarters like the one I already own use?
Last question, the key is missing, so I’d have to bust the lock, my advice on that without damaging the machine?
I will picking it up real soon, so stay tuned.

That is a model 1113 Buy a Pay. It will have the same parts as the 1088, just all crammed into a low boy cabinet.

you can drill out the lock ... google for drilling tubular locks assuming that's what's in there.  Drilling flat key locks is even easier.

... or, you can try one of these:

I think I'll order one and see how it works on my 929.

That looks really rough.  If it's the one that's for sale in Coalinga, I hope you are getting it for way less than their asking price.

Ya that’s the one from coalinga, I’m getting it for less than advertised.
I’ve asked for extra pics, just waiting on them.

Hi boys,

is the 1113 like the 1088 wide body machines? Are there any low boy machines who are 'normal' size?

cheers, Herbie

when the manuals mention it, the cabinet widths ranged from 14-1/2" for the "slim line" slots thru 21-1/4", not counting the handle.

the common case widths were sometimes called 3, 4 and 5 reel standard widths, which map to cabinet widths of 16-1/4", [not sure ... maybe 18-3/4" or 19"],  and 21-1/4"

standard reel tapes were 1-11/16" wide.
intermediate reel tapes were 2-5/16" wide
wide reel tapes were 3-15/64" wide

a 3 intermediate reel size cabinet was usually the same as a 4 reel standard

a 3 wide reel size cabinet was usually the same as a 5 reel standard

the 1088 is a wide reel game and the 1113 is an intermediate reel game, so the 1113 should be narrower than a 1088, but wider than a typical 3 reel machine.

how wide are the games you have?

Thanks Wolf,

I have two sizes of cabinets:

16-1/4" for the 809,873,802,785 etc
and 18-3/4" for the 1114-3 and 1114-4

I was wondering the low-boy only comes in a 18-3/4" size in the smaller size it's impossible to fit all in,

cheers Herbie

the 742A's were low-boy in a 16-1/4 cabinet.  A lot of those didn't have the stepper units for dealing with multiple coins played, so just the reel mech and hopper needed space.

the first lowboy dollar slot was the 1102 and it's a 3 reeler with standard sized tapes.  However, it was in the 4 reel size 18-3/4" (thanks!) cabinet, so I'd guess the dollar hopper with the large scoop is what needed the extra couple inches of width.

well, not really :-)

worst case was probably the 1112 4 coin multiplier ... that would need payout multiplying stuff.  I don't have a 1112 schem to see how they did it on that game, but I assume like a 1114 they have a coin unit, x2, x3 and x4 unit crammed in there.  It's possible the x2 unit was also the x4 unit.

the reason it's not a 5 coin multiplier ... no more room? :-)

So did OP buy the game?  I still see it on Facebook. I'd be interested in any additional photos, etc.
