Clone HDD to SSD

Hello,


Today Installed a new video card in my G23.  I noticed the machine has an old HDD in it.  I was wondering if it was possible to clone this drive to an SSD?


If so,


1. How do I clone it?
2. Is there a recommended drive type?
3. I would rather not wipe the drive, is this possible to do without wiping?
4. Is there anything else I should know that you think my be of importance?

You can use a drive duplicator or a program that can do bit-image copying like clonezilla.  The only requirement is that the SSD be large enough to hold the entire contents of the source drive.  So if you have a 160GB drive, get a 200GB SSD as a 160GB SSD might be a few bytes short.  I have had good luck using sandisk branded ssd's.
