Anybody else use this Kiesub denomination light?
« on: June 21, 2021, 11:06:05 AM »
For some reason I can only get this to work on a short display. I have two more of these lights in long displays connected to the same wire and they will not power up. They both are good because I can swap them out in the short display and they work. I have also tried connecting them to the red and green plug to the far left without any luck. Any ideas?

I am not familiar with them. Looks like just LEDs with current limiting resistor. If both panels work when connected to one connector with 12v ? then it should work in another.

I am sure you know the LEDs are polarized. I would verify the voltage is correct on the plug that does not work. Plus to plus (RED), ground to ground (BLACK). Be sure the voltage is the correct level?

Not really much to the panel from what I can see. Should light up with proper voltage and polarity.

My 2 cents ... Tony

You can fix almost any electronic device by replacing the aluminum electrolytic capacitors.

I have a couple of them, but mine is a short display. They work great.

My first guess would be the polarity is reversed on the wiring if they aren't lighting up.

Well I don’t think it has anything to do with the polarity. If I disconnect the 12 pin connector from the players display on the left side and connect it to the players display that would be to the right of the reels in a short display also connecting the red/green 2 pin next to the 12 pin then the denomination light turns on. Disconnect the 2 pin Swap the 12 pin back to the long display and the denomination light goes out???Now I have tried adding a jumper to the 2 pin that’s next to the 12 pin and no change. I have even talked to the engineer at Kiesub electronics who designed this light and he was not aware there was a issue but still was not able to offer a solution that’s why I’m putting my faith in our members.

The difference is the PCB. The one on the long display has hot/ground contacts via the traces on the the LCD board. The short display uses the harness for power from the separate LCD. You can cut the connector & solder the wires to the contacts for the bulb socket. Test your polarity first or run aux 13v power to it.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

I do have one machine with the long display, but I think it has a SuzoHapp product in it. Since it works,  I’ve never really looked at to close.  I can check it out tomorrow and see how it’s wired up.

Thanks RB looks like I have some soldering to do, if I would of known that I wouldn't of payed $13 a piece for these and would of gone with Jim's 50/50 light strip method for a cost of about $1 each.
