IGT Bill Acceptor failure
« on: August 23, 2021, 04:34:38 PM »
Hey guys,

Just got an issue with my IGT machine.
It was all working fine until I booted it up yesterday and this error came up: BILL ACCEPTOR FAILURE - Bill acceptor mechanical failure please check bill acceptor hardware.
Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to fix this ?
Thanks !

I'd start by reseating the bill acceptor and cash can to make sure everything is positioned properly. Might want to visually inspect the gears on the bill acceptor - in case something broke or is gumming them up.

I am new to bill acceptors myself and the advice given is very important. I had a bill receptor that the machine said was ready but it would retain the bills and fail every time. Checking the can fit and belts is very important. On the front of each side of mine is a relatively large gear, one of my gears was half missing so when it got to that point it stopped moving the bill. The machine did not know so it kept reporting “ready”. You have the attention of the correct group to get you fixed Just look very closely and take your time.

Thanks guys -

I did notice 2 little plastic black pieces drop from the BV when I took it out but I don't know where they go.
I have looked at the JCM WBA 11 ss exploded view of parts but for the life of me I cannot find where these 2 little parts go in the BV!
Last resort I can order a new one but I think I'll need to install the new software.

I have the exact same BV in my other machine so perhaps I could swap ?
Will keep my eyes open on this site for info.

BVs for the same machine type (IGT in this case) and of the same model are generally interchangeable - but you will get a CRC error as the BV gets paired to the machine it was in when originally configured. You can easily clear the CRC error by pressing the self-test key and navigating to the correct menu.

A photograph of these "pieces"goes a long way...grab your camera!  :Take_a_Photo:
