HI All
I picked up 2 bb2's parts complete, when I try to start them or run with the clear card I get to this screen and it stops. I tried swapping the juristiction chip and still have the same problem.

Any ideas?

Need to find out what an "spi module" is....machine is halting on that.

Make sure the jur chip is in correctly and in the right orientation. The notch on the chip should match the notch on the board/receptacle. Also the BIOS chip as well.

Did you install fresh batteries in the cpu?

Yes I did put new batteries in it and the jurisdiction chip is in correctly. I replaced the jurisdiction chip and still have the same problem.

Yes I put the clear card in the os side. As for the games I'm not sure what games came with the machine, the tags are impossible to read.

The SPI module is the sjur chip. if it is having problems loading that module, means the sjur chip is bad.  Do you have a known working one from another machine, or perhaps try the sjur on a machine that is known to be working correctly.

Just an FYI, SJUR chips are interchangeable between BB1 and BB2 machines, so you can test yours in a BB1 to make sure it works, vice versa.

I took the jurisdiction chip from my bb1 that is working and put it in the bb2 and had the same problem, I also put the chip from the bb2 in the bb1 and it worked. I have another bb2 I purchased at the same time and it has the same problem!

Do you have a known working bb2 mpu to try?  Also make sure the mpu is inserted and latched all the way in.  Loose mpu's can also cause the error, as does a chip that is not inserted in the right orientation.  Do you know if these machines were working before you got your hands on them?

Lotta times, people moving machines around make stuff come loose...you did say you just picked these up.
What commonly happens in IGT S2000's is the power supply up behind the reels come loose and people get all sorts of errors.
I'm noticing that also happens with the Williams Bluebirds too but with the MPU being loose and not fully seated with that latch on the bottom right.
On S+'s, the power cord tends to come loose.
I'm glad you got your BB2 going again.

Hey Rick, what in the world did the WMS manual writers' have "spi" stand for?  :scratch-head_3: :scratch-head_2:
Even "sjur"....specific jurisdiction, special jurisdiction?

SPI is just the way the communication protocol used for these kinds of chips (Serial Peripheral Interface).  SJUR I believe is Specific Jurisdiction, but not entirely sure.
