Aristocrat MK7 Questions
« on: May 11, 2024, 03:36:25 AM »
Hello everyone..hoping someone can point me in the right direction.  Picked up this MK7 yesterday for next to nothing. Powers up. BV cycles. .but that's it. No signal on both screens. This is my first venture into this type of machine. I have a pair of MK6 machines, but this is a different system. My first thought is I have a software issue. All the batteries are new. Dead when I got the machine).
So, my questions are.. is this a MK 7virdian? Where can I find a set chip? I did some searching and came up empty. I noticed it has a CF card and a micro card, but I'm not sure what's stored on each. The game theme is supposed to be Buffalo. I'll attach a few pictures.
Before I purchase a bunch of things I don't need, let me get some advice from the experts here.

Its either the  carrier board (cpu board) isnt seated all the way or the board is bad.

So it definitely wouldn't be the card being bad?  Everything is seated. The board  has a couple of lights lit. I don't have another machine like it to test anything. Is this a Virdian?

If the card was bad it would give you a "operating system not found" error screen.Would still boot through the bios until it looks for the card.
I pulled the cf card in my machine to show you the error.

Appreciate that! Bad news for me since they are priced fairly high, but at least I know. Thank you

You’re welcome.
You may want to check your board to see if there is any bent pins on the connector on the end of the board that plugs into the backplane.

So, looking at the pix you have posted it looks like you have an old OS and no game theme. It should be a 7.02 version Linux chip for the set up and a Buffalo theme for the game.
Those aren't cheap so, good luck...

I honestly know nothing about these systems. I thought the CF card I had WAS the game.. so..where does the game cf go? ..and what's the chip used for?

The chip (CF card) you have looks like a setchip, but an old one. The setchip should say something like:  LinuxOs         x.63.3         Setchip       7.0.65.02
While the game chip should say something like:  Buffalo Legends   1.01-62412        Linux x.59.0    World Base   5.18.0-1.00.6

So the chip I have is a set chip? Then whats the smaller microchip?

Basically, what I'm being told here is that my mpu is bad, and even if I put a new mpu in, I still don't have a game.  Is that correct?

Thanks in advance!!
