s5500 wont clear

when i turn the machine on in the in the win and pay displays the top line and a dot at the bottom flash nothing else cant get this thing to clear any way at all.
when i first got it had the 81 so changed battery and nothing has been the same since

well i have tryed every thing ive found on this forum and more still no luck.

moved the ram clear dip switch so many ways
purchased a set of ram clear chips no luck
pulled the back plane and board apart and checked and cleaned both
checked all wires in box
check battery volts
tryed swapping ram around
and so much more

anything else i have missed before i buy a new motherboard?

Check for bent pins on the MPU board. Are you getting it into the plastic guides properly on the left and right side inside the MPU housing? Be sure the MPU is fully seated as they are very  tight fitting at the end of insertion into the backplane. Are you using the JW jumper pins to do the clear? Can you post a picture of your MPU?

Unless you have a S6000 board no DIP switches need to be changed to do a clear on a S5500.
