IGT Triple play not working

Hello again,  I finally was able to start on another machine I purchased, the last one is still working great.  This one had a 61 displayed when I plugged it in so I changed it to 65 1  and it cycled and the reels did spin but that is it, the lower light on candle is flashing and coins just drop thru.

61 should become a 61-1, and then clear.

Hold the self-test button in for about 3 seconds until it dings.
The credits meter should be registering zero, and the coins paid can be whatever.

If you open the door, press the self test button a couple of times, close the door do the reels spin ?
What is the candle doing ?
Are your reels stiff ?
Is the Denomination sticker lit up ?
Behind the payglass will show insert coins ? does it ?

If the reels don't spin after the door is closed your game is not registering the door as closed.
What is the candle doing ?  I suspect the lower portion of it is flashing.....

Check that your door optics are working.
You can use a phone/camera to look at the door optics. One side (receiver) won't show anything the other you will see a faint light flickering.
You can't see this with the naked eye. Let us know ?

Make sure the cash can door is closed - most have had their locks taken off and if the door has been bent in anyway it won't stay closed. Just use a bit of electrical tape to hold it closed if it is not staying shut. If you needed to do this did it fix it ?

Assuming you saw the glow of the optics and the tape on the cash can did not resolve the issue - double check to to make sure the optics are aligned.

You mentioned you have more than 1 S+ try swapping the optics between them.

I also didn't ask before but double check that there is a coin in the comparator.

Its not an upright I believe I saw somewhere they called it a slant top.
The door is a bit banged up so let me check the optics and make sure its closed
on the candle you are correct just the lower portion is flashing

I don't own a slant top so I am a bit out of my element, however I think that the Slant tops have optics behind the glass that opens up top.
I believe they have plunge switches behind the bottom metal door.

The lower portion of the candle means that the door is open. In this case there are 3 doors - the Glass with the optics up top, the metal door down below and the cash can door.

To refine this better I will need one of our other members with more slant experience to jump in here and assist.

Ok  Its working and do I feel dumb, It was a little confusing but I figured how to remove the lower panel.  And when you said its sensing the door open, well all this time I left the front panel off and didnt lock the top panel while testing machine.  The front panel has the plunger pin holding the door closed so what was happening was the top also has a locking device but its a little arm that moves from side to side, so when I put the front panel on I had to lock both pins, which locked both the panel and top glass and boom working like a charm. I guess that's how you learn, something so simple

Yep....the smallest things sometimes...we overlook.

One time an apprentice slot tech was wondering why the power supply wasn't working on a machine he was trying to get going.
