IGT Video poker - Bill Validator issue

I have an IGT upright video poker machine. Every 30 seconds or so the bill validator acts as if it is bringing in a bill. Any suggestions on how to stop this?

Can you Elaborate on what model of IGT Video Poker you have ? is it a PE+ a Game King etc ? and do you know what model of bill validator you have.
Does the validator accept bills ?

If you don't know the model etc - please post some pictures of your machine both outside and in.

Typically what you describe sounds like a power supply issue. The validator briefly loses power and then goes through an initialization sequence when it gets power back. Without more detail as requested above its hard to be specific but you might want to try reseating all the harnesses at both the validator and machine end and see if the problem goes away.

It also may be as simple as removing, reseating the BV and cash can. I've had that issue when doing drops here and there.
