Folks,
I had sold a Bally 6000 to a co-worker a few years ago. She hadn't turned on the machine in a while. She powered it up earlier this week and her machine came up with an 88FF error. I stepped her through a complete clear. (the machine has the mains which allow a clear). When she did the complete saferam clear the machine briefly showed an 81 error. (Low battery). After she flipped the dip switch back, it reverted to error 88FF.
So I am thinking the battery is done. She has a lithium in there. (I had put it in before I sold it to her about 5 years ago).
I asked her to bring the board in to me so that I can swap the battery. I will just cut the lithium out and solder in a dual AA battery holder. Her machine is a 3 reel with a bonus round in the top glass. (Frankie and Annette's Beach Party). I have at my place, a Bally 6000 3 reel with a bonus in the top glass. (Wild Times)
After that long rambling introduction.....my question is. After I swap her battery for alkalines. Can I put her board into my machine to perform a clear and make sure it comes up ok?
