S2000 "Netplex Link is Down" error help

good day having a problem with two igt s2000 5 reel slots display netplex link is down changed out power supplies but still gettin the same error

Did you change the VFD's to known good ones?  Also you can try and start removing netplex devices one by one until the error goes away i.e. Printer, Bill Validator, Spectrum display.

Sorry to ask, but you DO KNOW the power supply swapped IN was good, right? Hate to see you beat your head on the wall for nothing (been there, done that).

With all 5 S2000's I have owned it has always been the battery that triggered the Netplex Link is Down message.

 I have ran into that error several times it has either been the power supply or the MPU.

Seems like i have had more bad MPU's than anything with this problem.  Have 6 bad ones now.  Always keep a few spares in stock for that quick fix.  BTW, the batteries on my failed MPU's all tested good.

Yes indeed, a bad Varta battery on the enhanced board will throw that error.  It is a pile of 504 boards that are bad here.  All cause a Netplex error.  Hanging on to them in case someone ever located what component is the most likely to have caused the failure, and maybe fix some of my old ones. :nerd:
