Flashing "0" in coins played
« on: May 16, 2015, 08:04:22 AM »
Just installed a new game into an s+ I've had around for a while. I'm not sure if it was working as I got it s a non working machine. I got through the 61 error sequence and the reels spin but when it comes to ready state, the coins played display flashes "0". Any thoughts to where to start looking.

I think that is normal after a 61 error clear.  Does the game accept coins?

Agreed with Rick.  Some SP chips flash the "coins played" digit to indicate that the door was just closed (similar to how other SP chips flash the lower candle bulb).  The flashing should stop after the next paid game is completed.

It wasn't accepting coins at that time. It is now accepting coins and playing. Now I need to figure out how to get the machine to send wins to credit instead of paying out.

Push the cash/credit button so that it is lit, then all pays will go to credits.

The cash credit button is constantly lit. Pressing it doesn't turn it off.

My S+ machines don't have cash/credit buttons. Only cash out buttons. I had to raise the credit limit in the settings to get credits instead of payouts. Also I set my hopper limit to zero so in case of an accidental cash out I don't have to feed thousands of quarters back into the machine.

I installed new led buttons. I just looked at my old buttons and that button was also cash/credit.

I do not believe ALL SP chips have the Cash/Credit function written in. You can't really trust what the button insert says, as that could be incorrect.

What SP chip are you running chuck300x11? Do you have the PSR for it?

You can use the SP1271 settings for SP1274. You need to change option 5 to a 5-0. Remember you can't have any credits on the machine to save changes.

"Originally posted by StatFreak on 3/19/2011:

SP1271 family of game chips: Typical setup for home use.

Important: All setting changes require 0 credits on the machine before entering setup mode.

With the machine turned on and in idle mode, open the door press the white test button 2 times
You should see "2  n" in the winner paid/credits windows.
Turn the jackpot key once. This advances through the setup sub-menu.
You should see "5  n" in the window, where n= 0 to 2. Press the spin button until it reads "5  0"
This will make all wins automatically go to the credit meter. You will not have to turn on the credit button before playing.

Turn the jackpot key to advance through rest of menu.
Close the door! "
