3 coin payout, not accurate
« on: December 16, 2015, 07:50:24 PM »
I just received my 3 coin glass and 2 3 coin chips. The chips both work but payouts don't coincide with the glass. What are my options other than pasting paper over the new glass. Thank you all again in advance.

What game is this?
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

Is this for a Wild Cherry 2 coin machine that you converted to 3 coin?

Double check that you have the correct reel strips for the game software and glass paytable that is installed. And that the reel strips are in the correct position (#1 reel, #2 reel, #3 reel for example). There are many similar games, you may have mistakenly got some mismatch.

Please post a photo of the 2 chips you installed and the payable glass, plus photo of the 3 reels with main door open. When you say the payouts are not right, do you mean the amount won that is displayed on the machine is wrong, or the amount is wrong that drops into the tray? Is your hopper working properly?

Yes wild cherry 2 coin to 3 coin. That explained the 3 reel strips in the packing box. Had no idea they were different. But that does not explain different payout amounts than what the glass says. 6 for 9 15 for 30 and that's the most I've hit. I'll change the strips out.

The strips in the machine may not be different or wrong, it was just something I mentioned to check. There should be a part number on one end of each strip. You can check that before switching out the strips if you want to. See if the part number for the strips in the machine is the same as the new strips. If you do swap out the strips keep in mind they each go on a specific reel location (strip #1 goes on reel #1, etc).

Or just rotate the reels and see if the strip symbols in the machine match or don't match the new strips you got.

What are the part numbers (written on the chip label) for the 2 chips you installed?

Yes the strips are the same. It seems as though the 1 2 3 coin columns are off by 1 line. 1 wild cherry any position pays 6 glass says should pay 9. 3 green bars pay 30 glass says 60. So any thoughts?

Two thoughts......

This is a slant-top machine right? The way you view the reels while sitting at a slant top machine is from an angle, and this is different compared to the way you see the reels on a normal upright machine looking straight at the reels. Maybe the reels you have in the slant top are for an upright machine? That could throw off the apparent place the reels stop, from the angled way you are looking at the reel glass.

Also, I think they make a different reel glass for slant tops vs normal upright machines (the glass right in front of the reels that has the payline), not sure about this, but if so your machine might have the wrong reel glass installed.

When playing the machine you can try standing higher instead of sitting, so that you are looking directly head-on at the reels, see if the reel symbols on the payline now match what the paytable says.

Someone here familiar with IGT slant tops can probably give more info.

Can you post a photo of one of your reels, side view?

It is a stand up machine. The reel glass is flat while looking straight at it. It pays when the cherrys are in any position. Like it supposed to. It pays so far any bar or 2 bars with a cherry or 3 double red bars or 2 double red bars with a cherry in any position or single green bars. But the glass does not coincide with the pay amount. I would think the only thing different about the glass would be the 3 coin 3 cherry payout as it looks changeable. I don't believe the reels and reel strip are the problem. I think it's the glass and the chip. Can the chip be reprogrammed?

ok, I thought this was a slant top that has the problem.

Are you thinking that the new game chips you installed do not match the payable glass? Did the 2 chips come from the same place as the glass and reel strips? You haven't said what the part numbers on the 2 chips are?? With those numbers we can match them to your paytable glass.

If the chip is a normal eprom with a glass window then it can be reprogrammed. You'd still need to know what software to put into it. What did you specify when you ordered the 2 chips?

Wild cherry 3 coin glass should look like this.  Does yours look different?

Rick,

Is the paytable for S2000 3 coin Wild Cherry different than the paytable for S+ Wild Cherry 3 coin machines, or on other platforms? I think riothecat recently bought the glass in 2nd photo below.

The second glass pictured isn't a standard S+ paytable.  The "For Amusement Only" and "Game Dispenses Tokens Only" on the glass is a hint of that, too.  200 coins is an absurdly low payout for three jackpot symbols on the payline.

All of the typical S+ 3CM Wild Cherry chips match the glass that Rick posted above.

You will need to get the correct glass, or a matching reel chip.  Unfortunately, I have never seen the reel chip for the glass in question. I suspect it was made for some jurisdiction or event and is probably going to be hard to come by.

10¾ seems  awfully tall for an S+ top glass.

They have another one that is even taller, both say they are for S+ and S2000. Maybe a typo on their description? Are all S+ top glass the same size?

5 coin Wild Cherry top glass, 15 inches tall, labeled for S+

They have a lot of glass for Wild Cherry, most of the ones for S2000 say they are also for S+ machines. But there are some shorter sizes and some tall sizes. Hopefully one of them is right for his machine:

this is the taller glass shown below, they say it is 15 inches tall

They have what is called a 9" top and the 16' top has a glass about 14". Not counting round tops coffin tops etc. Most the S and S+ machines at least older ones the glass is the same.

Here is a photo of his Wild Cherry machine from another thread before he converted it to 3 coin. Looks like it uses the tall top glass.
