Ok no need to troll CL. BUT... I do look daily for old broken slot machines, as most of you know. But TODAY was especially frustrating!
Someone had TWO Ballys for sale. They were both "99 Bottles of Beer" machines. I'm guessing they're on the Game Maker platform. He was out of town and told me he'd sell me both for $100 bucks. We actually messaged a few times while he was out of town then I heard nothing.
I just messaged him and the reply I got was:
"I did some research and heard they might be illegal to sell so I destroyed them."
Yes I know the law but SHEESH these were OLD grimy machines that looked like they came from the 80's!
Disappointing! I could have fixed them or used them for parts as the machines were complete with hoppers, cash trays, ets...
Now for the second rant. (I'm not really mad at this person; she'll figure it out when it never sells)
Another ad is for a ancient Bally Video Twenty One. I have one. It works. There's probably very few parts out there. This one is broken. She's trying to get $1000 dollars for that an another broken Bally poker game, very old looking. They've been on CL for months now so I offered (nicely) $50 for the 21 machine. She replied saying "NO I'll only take $1000 for both and I know someone who can fix them."
Hmmm - she's in my area too and I know there's no one other than possibly ME. But I don't advertise. I'm just a word of mouth hobbyist slot tech.
That's okay - I'll just patiently watch and wait...
It's just funny that people stick these things on CL and never bother to see what others are selling for, or not selling, just sitting there forever.
